C&J Construction & Roofing LTD installs Velux and other roof windows into pitched roofs across West Yorkshire, in loft conversions, existing bedrooms, bathrooms, landings and new build properties. The window is only half the job. The flashing kit, the trimming of the rafters and the internal finish are what make it last.
A roof window transforms a dark loft room or landing, and it is one of the few jobs that adds light, ventilation and value at the same time. It is also one of the easiest jobs to get wrong, because the window sits in the middle of a water shedding surface.
Our installation process:
- Position agreed with you inside and out, taking rafter positions, sight lines and head height into account
- Rafters trimmed correctly with new trimmers, so the structure is not weakened
- Window fitted level and square with the correct manufacturer flashing kit for your roof covering, whether tile, slate or low pitch
- Insulation collar and vapour barrier fitted around the frame
- Tiles or slates cut and re laid neatly around the flashing
- Internal plasterboard reveals formed, taped and finished ready for decoration
We install centre pivot, top hung, electric and solar powered units, and blackout, obscure and laminated glazing. We also replace failed older units that have blown seals or leaking flashings.
