These terms govern your use of this website and set out the basis on which C&J Construction & Roofing LTD provides quotations and carries out work. Please read them carefully. Using this website means you accept them.

Quotations
- Quotations are free, carry no obligation and are given in writing following an inspection.
- A written quotation is fixed for the scope of work described within it and remains valid for thirty days unless stated otherwise.
- The price may change only where you ask us to change the scope of work, or where hidden defects are found once a roof is opened up, for example rotten timbers concealed beneath the existing covering. In that situation we will stop, show you what we have found, and agree any additional cost in writing before continuing.
Carrying out the work
- Start dates are given in good faith and may move due to weather, which is an unavoidable part of roofing.
- We require reasonable access to the property and, where relevant, to a water supply and power.
- Where scaffold is needed it will be included in the quotation and erected by a competent contractor.
- We will not leave a roof uncovered overnight. Any opened area is made weathertight before we leave site.
- Waste is removed and the site swept at the end of each working day.
Payment
Payment terms are set out in your written quotation. Unless agreed otherwise, materials deposits are payable before work commences and the balance is due on completion. We accept bank transfer. Late payment may attract interest and reasonable recovery costs under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where the contract is with a business.
Guarantees
Workmanship guarantees are stated in your written quotation and are specific to the work carried out. Manufacturer guarantees on materials are passed to you where they apply. Guarantees do not cover damage caused by storm, accident, third party works, structural movement, or lack of reasonable maintenance such as keeping gutters clear.
Cancellation
Where you are a consumer and the contract was agreed away from our business premises, you have the right to cancel within fourteen days under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If you asked us to begin work during that period, you may be charged for work already carried out. Cancellation rights and how to use them are set out in your quotation.
Liability
We hold two million pounds of public liability insurance and five million pounds of employers liability insurance. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our liability is limited to the value of the contract.
Intellectual property
All content on this website, including text, photographs and design, belongs to C&J Construction & Roofing LTD or its licensors and may not be reproduced without written permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
