C&J Construction & Roofing LTD replaces fascias, soffits, bargeboards and cladding across West Yorkshire in low maintenance uPVC, with proper roof space ventilation built into the soffit line. We remove the old timber rather than cap over rot, which is the shortcut that causes problems later.
The fascia carries your guttering and closes off the ends of the rafters. The soffit closes the gap underneath and, done properly, ventilates the roof space. When either fails you get water into the rafter feet, rot in the timber ends and condensation in the loft.
Capping over rotten timber with plastic hides the problem and traps moisture against it. We strip the old boards off, inspect and replace any rotten rafter feet, then fit new.
