Solar is a roofing job as much as an electrical one, and having the same contractor responsible for the mounting, the flashing and the wiring removes the argument about who is at fault if the roof ever leaks.
Most solar problems we get called out to are roofing problems, not electrical ones. Brackets fixed into battens instead of rafters, tiles cracked during installation, and flashing kits either omitted or fitted over the top of the tile rather than woven in. We do the roof properly because the roof is what we do.
